Regional Sales Executive – CA and NY

EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of prospecting and closing small to medium-sized commercial business accounts. We are seeking a hunter with the following experience:

  • 3-5 years of business to business sales experience
  • 3+ years’ experience selling in the energy efficiency, mechanical, lighting, electrical, building controls, energy storage or building system maintenance fields
  • Proven experience selling demand-side energy reduction projects based on a short-term payback
  • Understanding of local utility rate structures and rebate & incentive programs
  • Proven experience prospecting, seeking out decision-makers, understanding buying criteria, proper positioning and developing clear steps to close
  • Capable of strategically managing a region full of opportunity – expert at prioritizing prospects based on program fit, geography, immediate revenue and longer-term sales opportunity
  • Actively sources client referrals and insight-driven success stories
  • Proven success in all aspects of lead creation, daily/weekly, taking the initiative to self-source over 90% of their actual sales leads
  • Effective and active use of Salesforce to track sales pipeline, activities and sales results to directly support their daily revenue generating activity
  • Proficient in MS office product suite: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Salesforce, data gathering tools and prospecting via social media sources
  • Prior formal sales training a big plus – “Challenger”, “DISC”, continuous self-improvement
  • Experience in presenting energy efficiency modeling directly to clients

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong ability to qualify prospects early in sales cycle
  • Skilled in building an opportunity pipeline, managing the progression of opportunities through the pipeline and accurate forecasting
  • Demonstrates strong communication, written, and presentation skills with customers and partners
  • Self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented and independent thinker
  • Strategic nurturer of partner relationships to target additional opportunities
  • Excels at proactively planning for monthly, quarterly and annual sales success; and pre-plans daily and weekly revenue producing execution-related activity

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to drive on behalf of the Company and meet Company driving requirements
  • Must pass drug screen, background check and reference check
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Accomplished relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management skillset – prioritizing revenue producing time, day-to-day, week-to-week, between hunting, administrative tasks, internal/external training and self-development initiatives
  • Weekly revenue producing activity to include at least 25 prospecting phone call attempts each day, on average, while documenting activity in Salesforce
  • Target and solicit local & regional accounts
  • Strategic thinker who understands the direct and/or indirect ‘cause and affect’ of their actions
  • Competitive nature and self-driven to ‘win’
  • Highly coachable and actively seeks out advice from leadership and peers, then implement/execute new sales or consultative tactics to drive incremental success
  • Openly seeks out new challenges
  • Early adaptor to change
  • Travel as needed within the region’s geographic area to meet with potential customers, present to partners and acquire information related to new opportunities
  • Travel quarterly to conferences and tradeshows
  • Maintain clear, ongoing, positive communication with VP of Sales weekly
  • Other duties as assigned
